Who am I
My name is Ash Myburgh and I am an award winning art director, designer and visual communicator making cool stuff in Sydney town.
While studying a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications at the University of Technology, Sydney and graduating with 1st Class Hons, I discovered a passion for branding, art direction, photography and print.
I’m a total metal head and a fitness junkie so if you can’t find me lying upside down concepting at work, you’ll find me and my bright red hair either in a moshpit or lifting heavy things up and down at the gym.
At the end of the day, I live for ideas. Good ones to set the standard, bad ones to learn from and the weird ones to keep me weirder.
As a visual communicator, I am constantly aiming to visually express particular messages in a conceptual way that challenges normal conventional ways of thinking and experimenting in different forms.
I became a visual communicator because, all clichés aside, I was born to be creative. I have always thought differently from those around me, constantly drifting off into an imaginary world to draw inspiration or explore ways of thinking of how to bring that world to life.
I absolutely love working with others in a creative team; picking other creative brains and bouncing ideas of my peers as I believe working collaboratively produces an amalgamation of the best skills to produce the best results.
Working as an art director and a designer allows me to do all of these things and more and my love for conceptual thinking is what drives me. For me, designing isn’t a want; it’s a need.
